UK Seller – sell internationally?
I am about to open a small shop on Amazon – I guess I will be going the route of selling professional for maybe 3-4 months as I have about a 1,000 books to sell. I don’t have any intention of staying as a seller beyond the point where I have sold off the bulk of my stock, at which point I will put them up on another site.
When I have sold on other sites I have tended to sell in the UK only for many reasons, not least I have found that platforms tend to favour the buyer over the seller in disputes. I know I can ship with recorded delivery in the UK and if there are any issues I am covered, pretty much.
However, the thought of selling abroad and then having to suck up a dispute in a buyer’s favour does not sound very attractive.
Does Amazon do automatic shipping internationally with also a signed-for/recorded system, or do I set it up myself?
Sorry, I am very new to this, quite overwhelmed by the details, and not really looking forward to dealing with ‘my package didn’t arrive’ issues for books I am going to sell that are often worth over £50 and which I have owned for many years.
(Note: I am an academic who was made redundant and now I need to sell my research books to live).
Thank you in advance.
