Amazon FBA fees $9. Recommended match price $5. What is going on?
This is an incredibly noob question, but I have scoured the internet and can’t quite find anything (recent) that addresses this, including this subreddit and r/FBA.
4 months ago I went on a book-collecting spree, snagging about 100 books for ~$2 each, uploaded and shipped to FBA, pricing them for ~$14 each. 4 months later, I have a whopping 13% sell-through rate. Okay, didn’t expect to sell all of them, but Amazon is recommending that I reduce my prices across the board – the only problem is, most of my items are already floating $2-3 above the total estimated fees.
These fees seem to be fixed, not a percentage. What are we supposed to do in this situation? I am a patient man, but don’t want to incur the storage penalty 6 months in. I would rather tell Amazon to just dispose of the books for 10 cents each, than for them to CHARGE me for selling a book!?
