Control Sponsored Product Display Page
My 6 toys are the first organic results when someone searches “alter nation.” I’d like to run a sponsored product to target my own products but not the keyword “Alter Nation.” My goal is that if the user is looking at 1 of the 6 toy’s product listing page, the other 5 are available to be a sponsored ad on that page, but not waste CPC on the search for “Alter Nation” on the search results page since I already have the organic.
I tried targeting the products then adding phrase and exact negative keywords to the campaign (because I can’t negative target keywords in the ad group since it’s a product target). This method doesn’t seem to work. I’m guessing it’s because my 6 toys, the target products, show up organically in the search for “alter nation” and that overrides the negative.
