(Discussion) Is it getting harder/ more strict. To sell on Amazon now than ever in 2023?

So I started selling on amz since march-may this year. And yes, I went for the “buying a mentors course route”. Tho the course I bought was pretty useful and I did get some good info and got to know the owners, (it also included a q&a group chat with 100+ sellers for everyone to ask questions and discuss with each other etc). There was still some things that they didn’t cover, like gross sales and profits, taxes, fees, doing taxes as a seller (earning income), revenue vs actual profit, and how competitive the market is right now.

The group chat is pretty useful but out of the 150+ people their, only HALF of the sellers actually respond and help or answer your text. Most of my questions were ignored or not relevant. I found MOST of my other half of Amazon selling information and advice on Google, reddit, youtude etc. That the course didn’t include. So I did use my resources and I will recommend that.

I sent in my first product around April and it took until may for the fullfiment warehouse to scan and accept it. So in beginning of May, I made my first sales pretty quick (I did use a repricer AI tool). And in just 2 days my 12 units sold out. oh- forgot to mention I sent in 60 units but only 12-16 actual were accepted 🙂 yea, probably was because I was in a rush and prepped my items horribly lol. Other than that I have just enough of experience for selling on amz but my journey has been rough and now I’m seeing the truth about selling on amz… such as the market being way more competitive and populated with more new sellers than ever because selling on this platform is now being promoted everywhere on social media, and what not, might become a trend at this point. I’m seeing from other post that Amazon is ” oversaturated” now, and competitive ofc. Is it harder for people to begin selling now in 2023 Than what I used to be? And is it worth it to start selling on that platform or to not bother the stress and do something else. is it not worth it to continue? Thanks!!
