Do variations always show a price-range in search view?

Do variations always show as a range in search view? Without FREE Shipping verbiage?

It was my understanding even if I have two variations, like Red Shoe or Blue Shoe, the search results would just show the most relevant ASIN / image / price. Why do my search results display a range without shipping info and hide the juicy free shipping verbiage?

I’ve seen this before on Amazon and it always gives a (non-prime / non-fast shipping) type of vibe when you see this range instead of a concrete answer. Any help is appreciated!
