Duplicate ASINs for my Inventory – Want to Move Mine to Other
When I originally sent in my inventory there was only 1 ASIN for my inventory under the brand ‘Lego’ but now there is a duplicate imposter ASIN under the brand ‘Toy’. The actual items are exactly the same the only differences are the category it’s listed under, the summary, description, and product dimensions.
Anyways, the inventory I have under my current ASIN has no buy box (hasn’t for a week now), is a much cheaper price, and is not moving; at-all. Therefore I want to move my inventory to the other ASIN under ‘Toys’ instead of ‘Lego’.
I have emailed customer support who has told me I have to remove all the inventory, re-receive it, re-label it- and re-send it in. This seems overly complicated, costly, and ties up my cash-flow (I have payments due to my distributors soon). I have also talked to a live representative and same story. This is not my fault in my opinion but Amazon’s for allowing a duplicate ASIN that is obviously a copy-cat (There are typos, dimensions wrong, etc.)
Yet, I have found Reddit threads saying it is possible, for a small re-labeling fee:
Should I revise my strategy? Right now I am requesting them to move my ASIN to the other one. Should I start with “That is a duplicate phony ASIN that Amazon should have never allowed and I either want my inventory moved to it because Amazon’s algorithms are treating it better than mine, or I want my ASIN converted over to it”
Additionally, I have more inventory I am about to send in. As-of-now I am sending it in under that new ASIN because as stated above it has higher prices, buy box, and inventory is actually moving. Shall I wait until I do this so they can see I qualify for both ASINs with the same inventory?
Thank you for your time if you made it this far. I would really appreciate any help since I am a new seller trying to take-off and keep running into roadblocks like this.
