FBA in 2022 OA/wholesale or PL

I have about 15-20k to start in Canada Market. Mainly I was planning to start PL after doing research but lately I’ve been reading a lot of people recommend not to start PL. Is it due to high initial costs, PPC costs or pl is just a bad idea overall. If not PL, then what other sellers suggest? I have spent a lot of time learning about product research for PL but now hesitant to start

Also I’d love to invest in getting someone as a mentor (experienced sellers) who can guide me as I go through the journey, either OA, wholesale or PL. Thanks
