How to quickly recall outdated inventory and replace with new re-designed inventory in FBA?

We have 500 or so units that my boss has asked me to recall from Amazon and replace with the newer design of our product. There aren’t enough differences to warrant a new UPC/ASIN, so it will have all the same product codes. Plus the loss in ranking on the current ASIN vs building a new one….

Is there a way to call back the inventory that is currently at Amazon and then send in new inventory without them co-mingling? Because of the drips and drabs way that Amazon completes removal orders, I’m worried about us having to do FBM fulfillment for 90 days+ before we can send in the new product.

Any ideas?
