Question about Gated and Branded Items

My wife and I are trying to start a seller’s account and since we have a lot of connections in Japan, we thought it would be great to start selling Japanese products. Upon researching, I came across gated categories and branded items. Some of the items we were planning on selling were snacks like KitKat, Dars, etc. I know these would fall into the Food category which is gated but are these considered Branded?

Also, when it comes to the Food Category, can doing Retail Arbitrage on said products help release the account from being gated in that category or do you need to purchase from a wholesaler?
