Rules for selling on Amazon for new sellers…
I’ve sold loads on amazon many years ago… but am I newbie to FBA. I wanted some guidance.
I want to sell my own brand of clothing. These I sell on ebay already and my own website.
Please tell me how much of the following is true:
-
Need amazing quality and professional photos.
-
Need really good write ups. This isn’t as important as other things. Most buyers buy on impulse + only buy what’s on the first half of the first page. (My experience on ebay is that some buyers, say 10%, will read every single word of your listing before buying. So the effort is worth it writing up good text.)
-
SUPER IMPORTANT: Need to drive traffic to amazon’s listings. Amazon ads or Facebook or Google. These are all good. QUESTION: is anyone better than the others?
-
Buy your item for $x and sell for $4x – otherwise you won’t make a profit. I heard the other day that amazon now take 50% of revenue from what sellers sell. That’s crazy?? 50% comes from taking all costs into consideration, like amazon seller fees, FBA fees, ad fees… (+ I’m assuming need to factor in returns and bad buyer costs).
-
Pay attention to the product packaging and presentation. This is important as well. This is secondary to everything else. It helps you reinforce a quality brand, but doesn’t help make the sale on the first place. I just made that up… just wondering how true it is?
-
Have good supply. At this moment in time, all goods I have. So supplying amazon won’t be a problem. Will be a problem if I get crazy fast sales though.
I’d really appreciate some feedback on the above. Even though I’ve sold before… I’m a relative newbie.
Thanks.
